U$X Federal Credit Union is committed to providing the safest, most secure environment for all of your banking needs. This includes protecting personal information transmitted to and from U$X FCU through the use of email. In order to provide you with the latest in secure email communication, we have implemented a Secure Email Encryption service called Zix.

All email communication you receive from us containing personally identifiable financial information will take advantage of ZixCorp encryption services. ZixCorp's e-messaging protection makes it easy for you to receive, read, and reply to all our encrypted communications - whether you are a ZixCorp customer or not.

The privacy of business communication is important to us, and we want to ensure your information stays private.

Retrieving a Secure Email

  1. To retrieve your secure email from the ZixMessage Center™ click the link provided in the notification email.


  2. You will be taken to a Password Creation screen. Create a password and click Submit. You will use this password each time to log into the ZixMessage Center™. If you forget your password, simply click on the "Forgot your password" link on the ZixMessage Center™.


  3. The message is viewed securely in your browser. You can reply to this message by simply pressing the 'Reply' button along the top.


Sending a Secure Email

  1. 1. Go to the ZixMessage Center™. And enter your email address registered with Zix and your password. If you have not registered an email address, click the "Register for a new account" link.


  2. 2. Click the Compose Tab.

1) Why Secure Email?

PROTECTION IS OUR BEST POLICY

With the fast-paced electronic communication of today, the way we process your personal and financial information and other requests for our members has changed in recent years. More and more, we are electronically transmitting documents with personal or private information in them. This speeds up the process of gathering and securing data and provides great ease of doing business, for our members as well as the U$X FCU. However, it also places our members’ information at risk.

With the goal of protecting our members’ information, we have entered into an agreement with ZixCorp to provide secure email communications. ZixCorp’s services allow us to send encrypted email messages to anyone, whether they are ZixCorp customers or not. We hope you will agree that the system is easy to use and provides an additional measure of security to your important personal and financial information.

2) Is my personal information safe?

To meet regulations and to comply with improved best practice standards, all email communication you receive from us containing any information of a private nature, any personal or financial Information will be sent through ZixCorp Secure Email Services. This will provide a way for you to both receive and read encrypted communications from us. You will also be provided with a method of returning information you would like protected through the same system.

We are in the business of providing you a safe and secure place to bank. This is just one more way we can protect you by protecting the privacy of our communication with you.

3) How long will messages be retained in the Secure Message Center?

The default message retention length is 14 days.

4) How secure is the Secure Message Center?

Messages stored in the Secure Message Center are encrypted with 168-bit triple DES encryption. Messages are viewed using secure Internet connections with high encryption. This level of encryption is considered highly secure by industry standards.

5) What Internet browsers are supported/recommended to use the Secure Message Center?

You must use one of the following:

  • Microsoft® Internet Explorer® version 6.0 or higher
  • Mozilla® Firefox® version 3.5 or higher
  • Apple® Safari™ version 4.0 or higher

Other Internet browsers may be used, but are not supported by Zix Corporation.

6) What handheld devices are required to use the Secure Message Center?

You must use one of the following:

  • BlackBerry® version 4.2 or higher
  • SmartPhones running Windows® Mobile 5.0 or higher
  • Apple® iPhone® version 3.0 or higher

Other handheld devices may be used to view your messages, but are not recommended or supported by ZixCorp.

7)How can I access the Secure Message Center?

You can access the Secure Message Center from a supported handheld device or any computer with access to the Internet, one of the supported Internet browsers and your valid log in information.

8) Are there any special settings required to use the Secure Message Center?

JavaScript must be enabled and pop-ups cannot be blocked for the portal Web address.

9) What privacy or cookie settings are needed in my Internet browser?

Privacy settings must be set to medium, or lower and cookies must be enabled. See your Internet browser help for more information on privacy settings.

10) What should I do if I receive an error message when I try to sign in?

  • If the error message is about your email address and/or password, make sure that you have entered your Email Address and Password information correctly.
  • If you still cannot sign in, click the Forgot your password? link on the Sign In page. On the Password Reminder page, enter your email address and click Submit and a password reminder will be sent to your registered email address. If you still cannot remember your password, you can change it using the instructions in Changing your Password.
  • If the error message is about something other than your email address and/or password, contact Customer Support.
  • Information on how to contact Customer Support is located on the Sign In page of the Secure Message Center.

11)How do I change my password?

On the Sign In page, click the Change your Password link. See the instructions in Changing your Password for more information.

12) What do I do if I forget my password?

On the Sign In page, click the 'Forgot your Password?' link. On the Password Reminder page, enter your email address and click Submit and a password reminder will be sent to you. If you still cannot remember your password, you can change it using the instructions in Changing your Password.

13)How do I access my account if I'm locked out

After three unsuccessful sign in attempts, you will be locked out of your account for 30 minutes.

  • If you become locked out of your account, you will be sent a notification email message to the email Inbox of the email address you entered, while signing in, if it is a registered email address.
  • The email sent to you contains information on how to change your password and unlock your account. You can always click the Change your Password link on the Sign In page to change your password at any time.
  • If you need additional assistance, contact your Customer Support Center using the information on the Sign In page.

14)Can I send large file attachments?

The attachment limits, including how many files you can attach, and the maximum combined file size limit is indicated on the Attach File page. Attachments can be received and downloaded on the handheld devices, but sending attachments from a handheld device is not supported.

 

NOTE: The larger the size of each file, the longer it takes to upload or download.
